What has happened to the English language? [revisited]
Although I prefer to write my own content, I came across this article by Thomas Sowell of TownHall.com today and absolutely had to post it here for your reading pleasure.
I wrote a short essay a few weeks ago entitled What has happened to the English language? Mr. Sowell has done an excellent job of picking up where I left off, although I am positive he did not read my essay and that his article was not intended to be a follow-up to my piece. In What has happened to the English language?, I spouted off about my frustration of immigrants failing to learn English and adopt our American culture. Sowell takes my argument one step further and discusses the underlying causes of why such behavior has become the norm in the America of today.
If you would like to read a logical conclusion to my query about the hows and whys of this country's retreat from its roots, values, culture and language, I highly encourage you to read Thomas Sowell's article. When you've finished reading it, read it again. Make sure the ideas and meanings put forth by Mr. Sowell imprint themselves on your brain and will not soon be lost. This article expertly sums up what we are fighting against here in America to retain the culture and values that were paid for by the blood of our ancestors, fathers, brothers, and now, our women.
