New Al Qaeda Terror Tape Authenticated by CIA and FBI
I have no idea why this latest piece of information isn't getting more coverage in the blogger world, but I've only seen it on one blog so far (WizBang.com) and referenced on one other blog (MichelleMalkin.com).
The article in question is posted on Matt Drudge's website, The Drudge Report (http://www.drudgereport.com/).
Basically, here's the news in a nutshell. Al Qaeda has released a new terrorist tape warning the United States of another terrorist attack that will "dwarf 9/11," that "the streets of America will run red with blood," and that "America will mourn in silence" because we will not be able to count the sheer number of dead. ABCNews received the tape from a source in Pakistan THIS PAST WEEKEND and HAS BEEN SILENT ABOUT IT. ABCNews staunchly defends its position of not releasing the tape on the grounds that the tape had not been authenticated. Funny, the mainstream media didn't seem to care about the authenticity of other terrorist tapes before releasing them to the general public. Why is ABCNews now all of a sudden concerned that the tape be authentic before letting the American people know what we are facing?
Either way, let's give ABCNews the benefit of the doubt that they really wanted to make sure the tape was credible and legitimate before releasing it. Fine. However, the tape was authenticated late on 27-October-2004 (Wednesday), and THEY STILL WILL NOT RELEASE THE TAPE!! An ABCNews source states that ABCNews will not release the tape until after the election because "this is not something you just throw out there while people are voting." Huh?!?!? Oh, I see. They will not release the tape because they do not want the American people to understand the sheer danger we are in right here in our own country, in our own homes, and in our own workplaces because if we knew of the level of danger we are in right before the election, we might see fit to vote in the candidate who would best protect us. And we all know who that candidate is.
As far as my own personal safety, here is my concern. We are all aware of the terrorist attacks in Spain on 11-March-2004 just three days before their presidential election on 14-March-2004. The terrorists' goal was to have Spain withdraw from the anti-terrorism coalition (headed by the United States). To do this, they would change the course of the election by ousting President Jose Maria Aznar. In President Aznar's place would step Rodriguez Zapatero, candidate of Spain's Socialist Party. Surely, Zapatero would pull Spain's support of the anti-terrorism coalition, which is exactly what happened.
Fast forward to 28-October-2004, and the United States presidential election is a scant five days away. Do you honestly think that Al Qaeda does not want or care to affect the outcome of our election? We have one candidate who is very anti-terrorist and has made it a point to “aggressively” (not aggressive enough, IMO) wage war on terrorism. The other candidate is well-known to be anti-war and has been making claims since his run for the presidency that he will pull our troops out of Iraq. It is easy to extrapolate that he will also turn tail and retreat from the war on terror.
No doubt the Islamic fundamentalists and terrorists see the outcome of this election as pivotal to their continued fanatical survival and growth. It only makes sense that they would try to manipulate our votes in a manner similar to what they did in Spain -- via a terrorist attack on our own soil. However, America has already suffered an attack that killed 3,000 of our own. For another attack to really cause the American people to change and vote the way the Islamists would like us to, the next attack would have to exceed the level, sensationalism and death count of 11-September-2001. There is no doubt in my mind that the terrorists are going to try to pull off another attack prior to, or on the day of, the election.
Even so, have you seen the terror alert level raised or any warnings sent out to the American people? I sure the heck haven't. Why does it seem that I am the only person worried about this? We should be warning everyone to be extra vigilant during these highly-charged times. We should be upping security in all major metropolitan areas, especially in transportation centers such as trains, subways, and highways that are notoriously congested. We should close the freaking border, and I mean NOW! Why, in these dangerous times of turmoil and unrest are we doing absolutely nothing about sealing our border except to have Asa Hutchinson tell border patrol agents that they are not to do anything if they see someone coming across the border illegally? (Yes, based on a few articles I've read, I think that is really happening right now.) H*ll, just a few weeks ago a big story broke that at least 25 Chechan terrorists had illegally crossed our southern border earlier this summer. Gee, do you think they have good intentions? Maybe they are just coming here to find work. Ha. If you believe that one, I have some wonderful ocean front property in Arizona to sell you. I'll even throw in some pristine hunting land located in the middle of Yosemite.
My point is this. I am incredibly concerned (and, to be very honest, scared) of what is going on in this country. We know the Islamofacists want to kill us. We know they hate us. We know they are plotting and planning attacks as we sit in our coffeehouses and drink our lattes or espressos while mindlessly chatting on our cell phones. Why is nobody doing anything about it? Why are the most basic steps of all not being taken to protect this country and its people? Is there nobody left in this country that loves America, her people and what we stand for? Are we just doomed to be killed or taken over by the Islamofacists like a submissive dog rolling over on his back just begging for mercy? I sure as h*ll hope not. I want my country back, and I am sick and tired of being scared for my future and the future of my family. It is this kind of bullsh*t that makes me seriously wonder if bringing children into the world today is a good idea. What kind of world will we leave them? For that matter, what kind of country will they be born into when we are so intent on being politically correct and pandering to minority groups that we have lost all sense of self preservation?
More information about the new terrorist tape is available on the Northeast Intelligence Network website.

You Asked for It!
OK. You all asked for it, so if you go blind, you cannot blame it on me. Before I allow you to proceed, you must agree to indemnify and hold harmless one blogger, me, for any damage resulting to your eyes and/or vision as a result of viewing the following picture.
What follows is a picture of me in my bridal gown at our wedding reception taken by one of our guests using one of those little disposable cameras we had placed at each table for guests to snap pictures of anything they wanted. My apologies, but I don't remember which guest took this photo, but I wish I did because they were one of the few photo takers who actually knew how to center the subject in the photo! I hope you enjoy the photo of the newly married Mrs. Honey-Bun, but in case you don't, you can't say you weren't forewarned.

Meet Sylvia
I want everyone to meet my very wonderful friend Sylvia.

(Click on the picture for a larger image.)
Sylvia and I haven't really known each other since we were children as most of you would expect from the fact that this is the first friend I have ever really talked about in my blog. Truth be told, we have only known each other since January 2000 (just under five years). And with the exception of six months (from January 2000 to June 2000), our friendship has spanned half a continent with her living in Indiana and me in California. But I can safely say that Syvlia and I bonded so quickly and so thoroughly during the first six months that we knew each other that we have been able to remain close friends even though about 2000 miles separates us.
Why do I bring this up? Well, Sylvia, being the wonderful friend that she is, knows how much Travis means to me, knows how much it meant to me to be married, and was bound and determined to be there for my wedding, even if it meant leaving her husband at home to take care of their five children so she could come to my wedding.
Now, Sylvia told me that she would be coming, but my memory must have been erased because after the wedding ceremony, after Travis and I had walked down the aisle together and stopped at the end of the ceremony site, I turned around and faced the crowd, and who was the first person I saw? Why, Sylvia, of course! She had been sitting towards the back of the seating area, so I should have been able to see her as I walked down the aisle, but to be perfectly honest, I was so nervous that I had tunnel vision and all I could see was my stepfather and the aisle runner in front of me. (Heck, I didn't even see Travis.) But when the nervousness had dissipated and the deed had been done, Sylvia was the first person I noticed.
Boy, I just about freaked out when I saw her. I started screeching this kind of half screeching / half crying noise and couldn't really talk except to say "Sylvia is here. Sylvia is here. She made it. Oh my G*d, Sylvia is here." Apparently, I really freaked out because Sylvia told me in an email later that although she didn't want me to be crying after the wedding (too late, I was already crying), it made her feel so good to know that her presence meant that much to me.
The very next afternoon, Sylvia and her escort Nick (yes, Sylvia's husband approved of her bringing a friend to keep her company) were to fly back to Indiana, so Travis and I met them at their hotel and went out to breakfast with them. We had a wonderful chat; it was as if Sylvia and I had seen each other just last week instead of last year. That's how it is with us. No matter how long we go between seeing each other or talking with each other, we seem to pick up right where we left off.
I'm not sure what else to say at this point, but I do want to make sure that you all get to see the face of a true friend. She has a family and a busy life in Indiana, but it was important enough for her that she be there for my wedding, so she held true to her word.
Sylvia, if you are reading this, please know how much you and your friendship mean to me and just how happy it made me that you were able to be there to see me get married. You know my history, so you know why that was an important moment in my life. It was only fitting that you be there to take part in it. I think it is a wonderful testament to the strength of our friendship, and I look forward to our friendship growing more and more with each passing year.
P.S. - The picture of Sylvia was taken by Nick during one of their hikes in the Montana wilderness.

Yet Another Reason to Close Our Borders
Though most large newspapers are incredibly biased to the Left, I was pleased to see this Washington Times article about illegal immigration and the effect of our unsecure and porous border with Mexico on the security of our Nation.
As many of you who have read my blog for any time are already aware, I am sick and tired of illegal aliens traipsing across our border and then leeching off the American taxpayer for social services and preferential treatment because they are “minorities,” all the while being paid under-the-table in *unreported* (read *untaxed*) cash by their “employers,” flooding our hospital emergency rooms for basic medical services because they know they cannot be turned away, bankrupting the hospitals because they have no insurance and cannot pay their medical bills, demanding rights that are supposed to be restricted to citizens, forcing lifelong American citizens to speak a foreign language in our own country just to communicate, calling lifelong American citizens bigoted and racially prejudiced because we wish to defend and promote our AMERICAN culture in AMERICA, and on and on and on.
I am so happy to finally see a large, major newspaper pointing out the dangers to our homeland security of having unsealed and unsecure borders.
In spite of information in the article, I have no doubt that our country will continue with “business as usual” and do nothing to secure our borders and crack down on illegal aliens. It saddens me that my personal belief is that if anything is ever to be done about this increasingly obvious problem, it will only come after another 9/11 or perhaps even two more 9/11. Heck, it may never come at all. And that, my friends, frightens me.
I have absolutely no confidence or trust in our government when it comes to illegal immigration regardless of which party takes the White House in January. President Bush has already bent over backwards in support of illegal aliens and has caused a tremendous spike in illegal immigration due to his flippant discussion of amnesty earlier this year, and we know that the Dems love to court the “minority” vote and would be doing everything in their power to encourage more “minorities” to come to this country by any means possible.
It is sad, but quite true. The outlook for our country (with regards to illegal immigration) looks very bleak, indeed.

Wedding Story 1
Drum roll please ...
And now, for the big news that you have all been waiting for ...
The weather for our wedding was absolutey FANTASTIC!!!
I would never have guessed that it would turn out so well because the weather had been so crummy in our chosen wedding town for the two or three weeks prior to our big day. In fact, on our drive into Montana from Idaho on Saturday, 18-September, we were caught in such a heavy rainstorm that we almost had to pull over and wait out the worst of it because we could barely see out the windshield. I, of course, was fit to be tied and the tears filled my eyes. I could just imagine it raining on my wedding day and having no suitable back-up plans in place. Travis simply could not understand why I had worked myself into such a tizzy, but since attending Travis' cousin's wedding last year on 03-October (during which the weather was perfect, I might add), I had my heart set on a beautiful outdoor Montana wedding, and the thought of anything else just made me sad. This caused a rather large argument in the car between me and my bridegroom, but as the rain dissipated, so did our argument.
It took us approximately four or five hours to drive from the southern Montana border to our ultimate destination, and it rained on us continually for at least two of those hours. Our half-way point in Montana was a small town called Hamilton. As we drove into Hamilton, it had just stopped raining, so the air was clear, but the ground was completely wet and soggy. The rest of the drive was uneventful with light showers off and on throughout the remainder of our journey.
We arrived at Mom and Dad's house at about 10:30 pm, exactly 24 hours and 10 minutes after our road trip had begun. Travis and I took turns driving our little pickup truck the entire 1200 miles from our home to his folks home. We stopped only to use the restroom, fill up the truck, and eat. Even so, it still took us a full day to travel. Boy, were we tired when we arrived!
I will continue my little “wedding saga” in another posting. But for now, I'd like you to see just how wonderful the weather was on our wedding day. This is a photo of three generations of Travis' family. From left to right are my new brother-in-law Dan, my new father-in-law Doug , my handsome bridegroom Travis and my new grandfather-in-law Bob. Clicking on the picture will bring it up as a full-size photo.
Enjoy!!
What?!? You thought I'd actually quell the suspense of seeing me in my dress so soon?!? Silly people! You should know better than that! Those photos will come in a later posting! :-)
