Wedding Story 1
Drum roll please ...
And now, for the big news that you have all been waiting for ...
The weather for our wedding was absolutey FANTASTIC!!!
I would never have guessed that it would turn out so well because the weather had been so crummy in our chosen wedding town for the two or three weeks prior to our big day. In fact, on our drive into Montana from Idaho on Saturday, 18-September, we were caught in such a heavy rainstorm that we almost had to pull over and wait out the worst of it because we could barely see out the windshield. I, of course, was fit to be tied and the tears filled my eyes. I could just imagine it raining on my wedding day and having no suitable back-up plans in place. Travis simply could not understand why I had worked myself into such a tizzy, but since attending Travis' cousin's wedding last year on 03-October (during which the weather was perfect, I might add), I had my heart set on a beautiful outdoor Montana wedding, and the thought of anything else just made me sad. This caused a rather large argument in the car between me and my bridegroom, but as the rain dissipated, so did our argument.
It took us approximately four or five hours to drive from the southern Montana border to our ultimate destination, and it rained on us continually for at least two of those hours. Our half-way point in Montana was a small town called Hamilton. As we drove into Hamilton, it had just stopped raining, so the air was clear, but the ground was completely wet and soggy. The rest of the drive was uneventful with light showers off and on throughout the remainder of our journey.
We arrived at Mom and Dad's house at about 10:30 pm, exactly 24 hours and 10 minutes after our road trip had begun. Travis and I took turns driving our little pickup truck the entire 1200 miles from our home to his folks home. We stopped only to use the restroom, fill up the truck, and eat. Even so, it still took us a full day to travel. Boy, were we tired when we arrived!
I will continue my little “wedding saga” in another posting. But for now, I'd like you to see just how wonderful the weather was on our wedding day. This is a photo of three generations of Travis' family. From left to right are my new brother-in-law Dan, my new father-in-law Doug , my handsome bridegroom Travis and my new grandfather-in-law Bob. Clicking on the picture will bring it up as a full-size photo.
Enjoy!!
What?!? You thought I'd actually quell the suspense of seeing me in my dress so soon?!? Silly people! You should know better than that! Those photos will come in a later posting! :-)

Posted by: Christèle on October 12, 2004 11:23 PMKasey, I am so very happy that your Wedding day turned out with beautiful weather. I was one of those people that Prayed for the weather to be great for you and I feel that I know you because of it. We were happy and so fortunate to have Bonnie up here in Ontario with us for 10 days and she accompanied us to Kingston to see my Oncologist. It was such a joy to have her here for as long as her Bear would let us. Hope you have a wonderful and happy married life. We will soon celebrate 52 years married. Take care - Bonnies Mom
