Ben Franklin's Beautiful Mind
"I am for doing good for the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it."
-- Benjamin Franklin
Wow, Ben, you have summed up, in two score and two words, my opinions to a tee! It's absolutely amazing to me that 200 years can separate people in time, but values and morals are able to transcend time to remain classic and true whether written in 1804 or 2004.

I've always been a fan of Jonathan Swift's modest proposal to deal with poverty. And that was from 1729 so its even older, of course the 1970's are old and foriegn for me, however that is beside the point.
Dinner anyone?
