Happy Thanksgiving
Wishing you all a warm and happy Thanksgiving with your families. May you find plenty to be thankful for on this special day and to appreciate throughout the next year and beyond. So often we find that we have forgotten the simple pleasures and blessings in our lives. May we use this day, and this holiday season, to remember all that we have been blessed with, both as individuals and families, and as a nation of free people.

Ben Franklin's Beautiful Mind
"I am for doing good for the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it."
-- Benjamin Franklin
Wow, Ben, you have summed up, in two score and two words, my opinions to a tee! It's absolutely amazing to me that 200 years can separate people in time, but values and morals are able to transcend time to remain classic and true whether written in 1804 or 2004.

Bush Turning His Back on Conservative Base
The Washington Times has printed a story that's really got me POed. After reading this story, you'll understand me when I say “WTF %*$@# @$* ^%@!*?!? ”
I am so angry with President Bush over this matter that I can't even calm down enough to write a well thought out and cogent rant over this. I guess he really wants to be president of the United States of Mexico instead of the United States of America. My initial reaction ... this man is a certified moron. He is going to PO his Conservative base, those supporters who turned out in droves to award him with re-election, because we all know how true Conservatives feel about illegal aliens, mass, unchecked immigration, whether legal or illegal and the effect that immigration has on the security of our nation. What in the world would he want to do that for? I guess Bush has nothing to lose. This second term marks the end of his political career, so it's not like he has to be concerned with what people think of him. Goodness, what kind of a “monster” have we unleashed? If anything, I would have thought one of his first orders of business would be protecting the American people from terrorism (his biggest campaign issue - the one he said made him stand out from his opponent), the privatization of social security or simplification of the tax system. But no, of course not. Those freakin' illegal aliens get to be center-stage. What a crock of @#*$!!!!! ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS SHOULD BE DEPORTED NOW, and we need to close all of our borders until we can get a handle on immigration into this country For Chr*st's sake, the very least we can do is to ENFORCE OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS!!!
Clearly, our president is going to do everything in his power to push through on his agenda of open borders betweeen the U.S. and Mexico. Clearly, he just doesn't “get it.” There are plenty of grassroots organizations out there pushing for decreased immigration, strengthening our borders, and deportation of illegal aliens. I wish there were a way to unite those grassroots organizations in such a way that the power behind the number of people they represent would have sway on the powers-that-be regarding this matter. I am not sure what we as the little people who feel the brunt of the immigration burden can do about this; hence, I am completely open to suggestions.
I'm so angry, it hurts.
