Wishing You a Merry Christmas
Although I haven't blogged at all this week, I did want to make sure to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Here's to safe journeys and warm, family- and friend-filled visitations that will bring us all memories to last a lifetime.
In the spirit of the Christmas season, I'd like to share with you a little musical interlude. This is not your typical Christmas choir or symphonic orchestra. Instead, I share with you a silly cartoon sent to me by my stepfather. So, Maestro, if you please ... * the choir begins to sing *.
Travis and I are off to visit my mother and stepfather for Christmas. They were supposed to make the 3-3½ hour drive to see us this year (we switch off every other year), but approximately three weeks ago, my mom was diagnosed with a medical condition that we just yesterday learned will require surgery, and her doctor has forbidden her from travelling. So it's off to my folks house we go. Truth be told, I wish they could be here for Christmas; we were just down there last weekend picking up a hand-me-down loveseat so there would be plenty of seating at our house for everyone. Making the drive again this weekend is not something I'm looking forward to doing. But I understand my obligations as my mother's daughter, and I am happy to do it for my mom won't so she be without her children on Christmas Day. It just doesn't mean I have to enjoy driving, right? ;-)
And, yes, in case you were wondering, I will be doing ALL of the driving this trip. Travis discovered on Wednesday that he forgot to renew his driver's license, so it's now expired (long story). That means I get to be chauffer wherever we go because we can't risk something happening to us or our vehicle if Trav were driving on an expired license. That's OK, though, because he usually does most of the driving, anyway. I'll just look at this journey as my chance to give him a break from driving. And besides, the best part is that Travis actually has the day off work! That's something to really be thankful for and appreciative of. We've hardly seen each other since getting married, so although it may sound pathetic to some that my best Christmas gift is that I get to be with my new husband at Christmas, to me it sounds just swell.
Anyway, what I really wanted to say is "Merry Christmas everyone!" I hope you all have a wonderful time with your family and friends over the weekend. Be safe, be warm, and most of all, be happy. It's Christmas ... that in and of itself is reason to be happy.

A Wedding Picture
I just received the first of what will be many CDs in the mail from our wedding photographer. For some reason, I really like this one and want to share it with the world. The photo is in a raw stage, so therefore, the color is a bit off (I think it has a bit of a blue or grey hue to it), but overall, I think it came out really well.
So, without further adieu, I present to you, me and my new honey bun hubby!

Isn't my hubby absolutely gorgeous?!? I think he's so “GQ!” He is very, very photogenic. There isn't a bad picture of him at the wedding anywhere to be found. He's been blessed with that look. It makes me drool just to see a picture of him!
