Virginia State Legislature Votes in Favor of Legal Citizens!

OK. Hold on to your seats because you're not going to believe this one ...

The state legislature of Virginia has voted to deny public benefits to illegal aliens.

Wait. I don't think you heard me correctly. Let me try again.

THE STATE LEGISLATURE OF VIRGINIA HAS VOTED TO DENY PUBLIC BENEFITS TO ILLEGAL ALIENS!!!!!

This is one for the books. I have not heard of anything happening in recent history where the rights of law-abiding citizens and legal immigrants were upheld over and above the perceived "rights" of illegal aliens. Please read the posting on The Word Unheard for a more detailed discussion of the vote and the blogger's view on what it means.

This is a major win for America and her citizens. Now, if only California would wake up and do the same ... life might be so much better here if California's legislature had even a modicum of respect for the U.S. citizens and legal residents living within the borders of California ... our legislature needs to realize that this is "California," not "Mexifornia."

Mexican Snipers Shooting U.S. Border Patrol Agents

Wow, two posts in one day. How long has it been since I've done that?!?

Anyway, since we're talking about illegal aliens and immigration in general, I thought you'd like to read a post by one of my fellow bloggers in the Bear Flag League.

Digger from Digger's Realm has posted an alarming article about U.S. Border Patrol agents being shot at by Mexican snipers. I encourage you to trot on over and read what he has to say.

Help Save California's Drivers License

I know that most of my readers do not reside in California. However, in an attempt to get the word out about a very important issue to Californians, as well as to residents of other states, I am posting here about an initiative that we Californians are trying to get placed on the ballot for voters to decide on.

The issue? Granting legal, valid drivers licenses to the millions of illegal aliens currently residing in California against Federal and State law. For years, Californians have been trying to make it illegal for the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue a valid state drivers license to illegal aliens. And for years, the Democrats and Liberals in this state have been fighting us tooth and nail. They absolutely, positively want to open up our borders, welcome as many illegal aliens who want to come here and leach from the system, all in an effort to procure more votes for the Left.

You do realize that in California, it is illegal to ask a person for proof of citizenship before that person is allowed to vote, don't you? And you do realize that in California we have a program called the Motor Voter Program that allows someone to register to vote at the same time as they apply for a new drivers license, right? Hmm, let's put two and two together. If illegal aliens are allowed to obtain a legal drivers license, then theoretically, they would also be able to register to vote at the same time. Now, barring all of the other reasons why granting legal California drivers licenses to illegal aliens is a very bad idea (i.e., homeland security issues, border security, and the fact that a drivers license grants the bearer with de-facto citizenship because you need a drivers license to do almost anything), it should seem especially bad because if we allow illegal aliens to obtain drivers licenses, then they can register to vote through Motor Voter, and once registered to vote, they won't be asked for proof of American citizenship, so they will be able to go to the polls freely and vote for those things that are in their benefit but not necessarily in the benefit of our state's citizens and taxpayers.

I'm telling you, this is a dangerous road to tread.

I'd like you to please forward this link to anyone and everyone you know. Maybe you don't personally know anyone who lives in California, but chances are that someone you know will know someone in California, and so on down the line. We need to alert as many Californians as we can of the threat that is knocking on their doorstep.

The group of people who are trying to gather enough petition signatures to place an initiative on the ballot call their movement the "Save Our License" movement. The website can be found at Save Our License. We need all Californians who are registered to vote to visit the web site, download a petition, sign it, and return it to the Save Our License headquarters by Friday, February 11, 2005.

To download the petition, please visit: www.saveourlicense.com/petitiondownload.htm.

I want to thank you all, in advance, for helping us poor California souls who are just trying to retain some semblance of sanity so our families can live in peace without the constant onslaught of idiotic laws designed to take away our freedoms and the meaning of American citizenship.
