Thursday's Thirteen No. 4
I decided to get an early jump on my Thursday's Thirteen for this week!
Yes, I missed last week's Thursday Thirteen. But I had two darn good reasons. I promise! Actually, the biggest reason was that my blog was down. But as icing on the cake, I was dealing with my first allergy attack in more than 10 years and was in no condition to operate a computer. Trust me, we're all better off that I stayed away from the keyboard! In honor of last week's events, I dedicate this week's Thursday Thirteen to the allergies that have only hit me about three times in my entire life and decided to strike after 11 years of dormancy. Feel free to add your own list of bad things about allergy attacks in the comments section!
- Red, watery eyes that give me ...
- ... blurry vision.
- Ear aches
- Having a such a sore, dry throat that ...
- ... when I talk, I sound like I've been a smoker for 60 years, and ...
- ... swallowing puts such pressure on my ears that I can't sleep.
- Constant sinus pressure that makes me ...
- ... feel like my head is being squeezed by a vice.
- Not realizing that I'm having an allergy attack (because they are very few and far between), so ...
- I waste time and money going to the doctor thinking I've got strep throat, an ear infection, or possibly a sinus infection.
- Inability to focus or think for very long
- Three little words ... post nasal drip
- Always feeling tired and worn out

I sympathize totally. I am having allergy problems too. I got these more in my adult life & I am an all-year-round sufferer.
Posted by: thebluestbutterfly on November 2, 2006 10:45 AMI'm the opposite of Bruce. I NEVER had any allergy problems whatsoever as a child. They all hit at about 16-17 years old. Now I have allergy problems 365 days a year. I think what I miss most is sheets that have been hung out on the line to dry.
Posted by: Courtney on November 2, 2006 11:44 AMUgh! I hate allergy attacks! I get them so bad as soon as I get the slightest smell of freshly mowed grass.
Posted by: Tammy on November 2, 2006 12:07 PMNice to see I'm not alone in my sufferings. I'm just sorry that in order to have compadres of this sort, we all have to suffer.
Posted by: Kasey on November 2, 2006 01:57 PMI hate allergies!! I lived in FL all my life and was OK. Until I moved to DC. Go figure?

I suffered from allergies in my early 20's but only for a few years. No allergies as a child and none since my 20's that I know of.
